I keep wondering why companies are so quiet right now

keep wondering why companies - particularly in #education - are so quiet right now. I’ve been scanning websites and linked in profiles and see way too little support for anti-racism efforts. Actually I haven’t seen anything. And almost nothing about standing with your colleagues of color.

You’re so quick to say God Bless the USA, we are (insertcityname)STRONG, we are here for you with COVID. You start planning your Holiday cards 2 months in advance. You should do all that. No doubt.

But oh my goodness you are embarrassingly quiet about racism right now. Especially you leaders who are well-known in our space. I don’t have the same pulpit you do. You can’t be a leader in this space and stay quiet.

Where are you #educationindustry? Are you worried about upsetting some “fine people” along the way?

And #superintendents, #teachers, and everyone who cares about what happens in #school, I think it’s time you add social responsibility to your evaluation rubrics.
